It really shows how misleading terms like War on Poverty or War on Drugs can be. We aren't doing half as much as a society to combat those problems as we did in WWII. The sacrifices and contributions of the whole country showed the power of the human spirit, and it shows what private citizens will do to benefit their country, and selves, given proper leadership.
